The reporter learned that as a long-term host of the China Africa Economic and Trade Expo, Hunan is actively planning and preparing for the second China Africa Economic and Trade Expo, establishing a long-term mechanism and practical measures for cooperation with Africa, exploring the formation of the "Hunan model" of China's local economic and trade cooperation with Africa, focusing on planning and promoting multiple institutional measures, and making every effort to create a new window for local cooperation with Africa and a new highland for demonstration of China Africa economic and trade cooperation.
At the opening ceremony of the Hunan University Symposium on Governance Institutions in the Central African Republic this morning, the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of Commerce introduced that Hunan Province is known by the Ministry of Commerce as one of the most active provinces in economic and trade cooperation with Africa. In 2019, trade with Africa is expected to grow by more than 50%, with more than 120 investment enterprises in Africa and actual investment of 1.2 billion US dollars.
Since the successful hosting of the first China Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha in June 2019, Hunan has pragmatically promoted China Africa economic and trade cooperation, focusing on planning and promoting multiple institutional measures, including the establishment of the China Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Association, the construction of the China Africa Economic and Trade Incubation Park, the establishment of the China Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Institute, the improvement of the China Africa economic and trade project database, the continuous collection and replication of case proposals, the formulation and introduction of opinions and policy measures for implementing economic and trade cooperation with Africa, the promotion of comprehensive economic and trade cooperation with key countries such as Uganda, the establishment of a new mechanism for promoting trade with Africa, and the construction of the China Africa Cross border RMB Center.
At the meeting, officials from Hunan University and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Hunan Branch respectively introduced the progress of the China Africa Economic and Trade Research Center and the China Africa Cross border RMB Center. The representative of the Central African Republic made a key presentation on the country's economic and trade needs. Political leaders, experts, scholars, and business representatives in attendance engaged in lively discussions on how to promote economic and trade cooperation between Hunan and the Central African Republic.
It is reported that there are a total of 23 members from the Central African Republic's political institutions visiting this time, consisting of 5 ministers and 18 other government officials. They also visited Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd Kilimall、 Huazhi Technology, Hunan Gaoqiao Market and other places.
